How long does PreCheck approval take?
Most applicants get approved in 3–5 days from their appointment. Some are approved instantly at the appointment. The TSA process itself is quick — the long part is usually getting an appointment slot, which we help you find and schedule.
Do I have to go in person?
For a NEW enrollment, yes — TSA requires a 10-minute in-person appointment for fingerprinting and ID verification, and we find available slots at the closest enrollment center and help you schedule. RENEWALS are different: most complete fully online with no appointment; TSA only asks for an in-person visit in special cases (usually a name change).
TSA PreCheck vs. Global Entry — which should I get?
Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck as a free benefit and adds expedited U.S. customs and immigration on international arrivals. Our service fee is the same ($69) for either, so if you travel internationally even occasionally, Global Entry is the better deal — you get both. Choose PreCheck on its own only if you fly domestically and never need customs.
TSA PreCheck vs. CLEAR — what's the difference?
They solve different steps. TSA PreCheck speeds up the screening checkpoint — keep your shoes, belt, and laptop on. CLEAR skips the ID-check line entirely by verifying your identity with your face or fingerprints. Many travelers use both together: CLEAR gets you to the front of the line, and PreCheck gets you through screening faster.
Is TSA PreCheck worth it?
For most regular flyers, yes. PreCheck lasts 5 years, works at 200+ U.S. airports, and the dedicated lane averages under 5 minutes versus 30+ in the standard line. If you take more than a round-trip or two a year, it usually pays for itself in time saved.
Can my family members get PreCheck through my account?
Each person needs their own application. Children 12 and under can use the PreCheck lane with a PreCheck-enrolled parent — no separate enrollment needed.
What happens if I get rejected?
Rare, but it happens — usually due to past arrests or unresolved warrants. If you're rejected by TSA, we issue a full refund of our service fee. The TSA application fee ($78) is non-refundable per their rules.
How long does TSA PreCheck last?
TSA PreCheck is valid for 5 years. When it's time to renew, you can do it online — we offer a renewal service at the same price and remind you before your Known Traveler Number expires.
